Absolutely! We are all going to feel this. I was just responding to the idea that people can make lifestyle changes to lower their grocery bills, but are powerless in the face of gas price changes. There *are* things that individuals can do to lessen the pain a bit.

I think you're right. I just wanted to push back gently on the idea that people can make lifestyle changes to save money at the grocery store, but are helpless in the face of gas price changes. Most people can save money by doing some or all of these things.

I actually did this - traded a big SUV for a small hybrid. I carried my three kids just fine, on the occasions when we couldn't bike or take transit. But you don't have to! It was simply mentioned as one option that people have.

I get what you’re saying, but there are things people can do. Carpool; trip chain; bike or take transit for some trips; even sell a big car to buy a smaller one or a hybrid or EV.
