Pixelart started as a necessity due to hardware limitations yes, and so it was chiptune or low poly, but those things have evolved beyond their original status and have become their own medium, older and modern pixelart work very differently and so trying to dictate a universal truth makes no sense.

I never understood this obsession for wanting to reduce things like pixelart to "an old time relic that lives in the past, and only made sense in the past".

It's like calling a painter stupid for using acrylic and canvas instead of a graphics tablet, you don't sound smart, you sound like an idiot.

The thing about how "pixel art was designed for CRTs" always kind of annoys me because: Pokemon wasn't. Pokemon was released on the Game Boy, which used a liquid crystal display. Nobody ever seems to think to bring this up. Drives me mad!!!

Go on social media platform, throw me a rewind, you'll just give me more reasons to use you less than I already do.
