I didn't understand why any of it was so bad, growing up in a hyper conservative household, but I do now. That teacher was so beyond out of line. And yeah, the boy was a jerk, but he had the right to sit, and adult shouldn't have touched him.

When I was in 5th grade, there was a boy who wouldn't stand for allegiance and it drove our teacher absolutely insane. He even got physical with the kid, trying to force him to stand up. The kid taughted him, and bolted out of the classroom. Next day, the kid was told he could sit if he was quiet.

The stratagests are a massive part of the problem. They are completely out of touch with the average person.
