30.03.2025 08:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0In my last article I briefly mentioned a preference for European services. To elaborate, I posted the article: martijnhols.nl/blog/moving-...
It's a bit off-topic for my blog. After the upcoming "hug of death" article, I'll circle back to front-end/React based stuff.
Definitely! And they underestimate the cost of cloud services when things start growing, while servers are just static
13.03.2025 06:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Next still runs a server in front via Node to handle all kinds of things such as rewrites, headers, compression and other middleware. But yes, its impact isn't that big. The article is focussed of what a standard pre-rendered, self-hosted Next.js server can handle
12.03.2025 17:07 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0React makes developing it a lot easier and fun, especially to add small interactive components like the tooltip I use everywhere. NextJS builds down to prerendered pages, so its impact should be minimal
11.03.2025 18:40 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0New article in which I dive into how much traffic a pre-rendered Next.js site can really handle. Will it survive going viral? And how does SSR compare? martijnhols.nl/blog/how-muc...

03.03.2025 18:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Countries need to implement local laws for the directive that are _at least as strict_. In other words, the actual law is actually stricter in some member countries. I did not look into country-specifics, but the "new developments" interpretation is erring on the side of caution.
