I saw Superman last night with my son. Man, this movie made me feel good. It was full of heart, smarts, comic slivers, and hope.
I loved Green Lantern, Mr. Terrific, Lex Luthor, and just about every choice James Gunn made. oh, and Lois (perfect).โค๏ธ
I want to go see it again!!!โค๏ธ
Really nice new review of my novel THE WINDOW. โค๏ธ

29.05.2025 19:34 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Cover for Tananarive Due's THE LIVING BLOOD. The title is in white in the center, with Due's name in yellow just below it. The top half is of a Black person's face and they are wearing a yellowish/orangish scarf. The bottom half is a beautiful red, yellow and orange sky with a tree smack in the middle of it.
Cover for Alma Katsu's THE HUNGER. The title is in red in the center of the cover and Katsu's name is on the bottom in red. There is a woman wearing a blood stained white...nightgown maybe...and she has blood dripping from her mouth.
Cover for S.H. Cooper's REAP, SOW, featuring a very creepy older woman with white hair just past her shoulder screaming at you. She's lit from the side by a yellow light, so the right side of her face is bathed in yellow, and the left side of her face is getting swallowed in darkness.
Cover for MONSTERS: WE'RE ALL A LITTLE DIFFERENT, the fifth book in Crystal Lake's Dark Tide series. The top half has a creepy ass figure back lit by a full moon. It has multiple horns growing from its head, and it has a very hairy body and glowing blue eyes. It stands at the end of a path to a river, facing you. The bottom half contains the book title and the author names: Glenn Rolfe, Tom Deady, and Nick Kolakowski.

19.05.2025 17:25 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0AUGUST'S EYES came out in the summer of 2021. Loaded with adult themes, terrifying situations, and a nightmarish true crime element, this one really goes for the throat and ends up breaking your heart.
07.05.2025 18:08 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Some of the inspiration for this story came from Wes Craven's films A Nightmare on Elm Street and Shocker, as well as the real life serial killer, John Wayne Gacy.

Really colorful cover of V. Castro's THE HAUNTING OF ALEJANDRA. It's an orange background with a woman made of flowers (and a skull) front and center. The only thing that's not a flower (or purple skull, which is about on the cheek) is their face. Even though there's a shadow, you just know that red lipstick is poppin.
Cover for Catriona Ward's THE LAST HOUSE ON NEEDLESS STREET. It's kinda similar to the poster for THE EXORCIST, except everything is bathed in a green tint and instead of Father Merrin standing under a light staring at a creepy old house, it's a black kitty cat. Adorbs, man.
Cover for Josh Malerman's GOBLIN, featuring a young blonde girl in a blue dress (it's very Alice in Wonderlandy) facing a hedge maze. Up on the hill a creepy ass house awaits her.
Cover for Joe Hill's 20TH CENTURY GHOSTS. It features what looks like the x-rays of two grasshoppers. On the right it's almost a complete one, where on the left, it's just the legs of another. Or maybe they're the same one and there's some magick shit happening. They are a very bright green. This collection has THE BLACK PHONE in it. That's a damn fine movie. I can't wait to read the story.

12.04.2025 13:42 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Good thing about anthologies: One story per day makes it very easy to read every day.
Bad thing about anthologies: It takes like a month to read one, because I can just stop after one story.
Anyway, go read Never Whistle at Night, it's good.
And now: Murderbot re-read before the show comes out ๐ค
It is so cool!
