Found out the same with my employer-sponsored private insurance. I couldn't take the next available because I wanted to get the shortest drive possible (60 miles RT; otherwise it's over 100 miles RT. For a freaking follow up)

So really stupid question; I know that kids very often interrupt a conversation. I never know if I'm supposed to respond to the kid, continue as though not interrupted, or stop to see if the parent intervenes some way. I've tried all 3 & can't figure out what to do in that situation that's not rude

Wild Monday! Fed MK & the black cat was out there at the same time. Not only didn't he run away, he was meowing at me because I'd given MK his wet food! Grabbed another bowl & tried but MK hogged it. I think black cat got some, though. And now MK is snuggled down in his shelter. Good start to Monday

Level 1 that I have, I get only 4 miles of charge per hour. Level 2 gets closer to 13.5 miles (going to the 30 amp my panel can support), so big difference if I have to drive to the cities in winter on back to back days (roughly 100 miles rt). 42 hrs to get 165 miles on level 1 vs 12 hours

To explain; Bolt's battery is 66 kw. 75% of that is 49.5. If I get 2.5 kWh in winter, then 49.5X 2.5=123.75. At least I think that's how you do it! It's best not to routinely charge to 100%, but for occasional trips I could go 165 miles on a full charge. I'm getting ~3.3 kWh now (I got non EV tires)

We're not really in cold temperatures here yet & I'm no longer adding trips to learn how to efficiently drive an EV. Suspect my range if I set the max charge on the battery to ~75% would be a minimum of 125 miles if I use the heater & am on the freeway, but I'll need to test that when it's uber cold

In case anyone is EV-curious, here's what it costs me to charge from about 50% battery to somewhere between 75%-80% (Bolt doesn't show exact percentages & I didn't count the graphic bars). Basically $4.35 to do 2 loads of laundry, dishes & charge ~25%. This is charging level 1 at 12 amps

Keep thinking about who will move into the big house behind me. So glad you guys are willing to give me tips on how to talk to kids. I get that it seems improbable to get to almost 60 & have never interacted w/kids, but here I am. For whatever reason kids have always been 100% incomprehensible to me

A tabby cat can just seen peeking out a door in his winter shelter, under the shelter’s awning. His breakfast bowls are closer to the camera, out to f view as I zoomed on his face

Just gave him breakfast and turned his heating pad up to medium because he wanted in so bad he came in the entry when I opened the door. He’s cozy & it’s not as cold as a typical year-at all!

Expensive day. I wear sweats for WFH so can keep the heat turned down but they're thin these days & only last ~a year. So new sweats day, plus it's change the litter day so had to get 3 boxes (1 fill each litter box + one to replenish). Add in charging the car & 2 loads of laundry= 🤕 for my wallet

I'm so glad you posted this! I wasn't sure if maybe my thoughts on it were the minority, esp when some very intellectual, high follower accounts started reposting some of it. It's designed to raise emotions, which I hate. Can't we just read stuff & take it in without screaming yellow/white bold?
