Like, I have a Monster Hunter!Davrin x Vampire!Rook Modern AU, and it was so baffling to me in the moment that I forgot that's like a core tenet of AUs. The drama and the slowburn of literally being on diametrically opposed sides of the supernatural. The pathos!!!

Made a mention of this on Tumblr, but I'm so brain rotted about Davrin and Veilguard it's detrimental. Like, I had already planned on a fix it fic, because who doesn't love a good fixer upper. But then I came up with a bunch of AUs before I've even written the main attraction!!
