DREADFEST V IS HERE

In tonight's Legend of the Five Rings game, things got messy when three Emerald Magistrates submitted three *different* copies of the same document into evidence.

I have an art nouveau deck that has been my go-to (although I've probably used the Invisible Sun sooth deck the most)

a French half-elf bard who has worked with his father on antiquities in Egypt and the Levant; and a Greek rogue sailor who worked as a spy during the independence movement and is looking for what to do next.

We have a 13yo Arab girl who is part-tiefling and a djinn-possessed sorcerer; a middle aged Turkish woman convert to Sufism, becoming a whirling dervish monk; a 10yo Turkish boy who works in the bathhouse but hopes to one day be a Janissary fighter like his father and brother;

Just finished session zero of a Historica Arcanum: City of Crescent campaign. This is D&D 5e, adapted to mid-1800s Turkey.

We finished character creation and did a couple opening scenes, and I'm delighted.

Speaking of Zariel, Nosy (hollyphant wizard) came back to his memories and now serves as her war mount.

Meanwhile, Marta (firbolg guardian) has sworn herself again to Zariel, and is committed to recruiting for the Blood War, relieved to know her family, in Elturel, have been returned.

With a combination of guile and rationalizations, they convinced 3/4s of the acting dukes in Baldur's Gate to swear fealty to Gargauth, who then used it as leverage to get Zariel to step down from ruling Avernus, ceding it to Gargauth in exchange for troops for the Blood War.

Vaylis (tiefling bard) started off working for the devil Dantalion, but soon upgraded with a multiclass into warlock, with Gargauth, the Hidden Lord, trapped in a shield, as a patron.

Crush (tortle seraph) brought the good news of Selûne to Avernus, having made at least one convert, and replacing the Companion above Elturel with Selûne's own presence, after Jervys dispatched Shar's acolyte with the aforementioned magic wooden hand.

Jervys (drow sorcerer) discovered his magic came from Tiamat, and when he died, returned as an abishai in service to her. This is after using the hand of Vecna, and later getting it replaced with a magical wooden hand from Mordenkainen.

Demetrius (human bard) is grand duke pro tempore, until Ravengard returns to Baldur's Gate.

Cap Cap (myconid ranger) and Weims (satyr druid) escaped into the Feywild.

Baruk (tielfing rogue) returned to the Zhentarim, avoided Avernus entirely.

Nearly a year and a half of running Descent into Avernus using Daggerheart, and we're wrapping things up. Where did things land?

Year 5: we're putting together a calendar of events from a bunch of different game masters, in venues all over the Twin Cities.

I played around a little with elevation and walls, haven't done anything with light/visibility. This is an aspect of VTT maps that are very cool when they already exist and I find to be a huge pain in the ass to implement myself.

There were a couple very minor issues in the character builder. Setting up my own map and encounter was smooth.

By far the strongest aspect is how clear it is to players and the director what each character's options and abilities are, and how they may be used.

First stab at Draw Steel using the Codex beta.

Shout out to Round Table in Lethbridge; food, drinks, board games, excellent atmosphere, and I was able to play Mage Knight finally.
