Another foreseeable disaster that we’re watching play out because people in power were/are hesitant to do anything about it.

Is the wage in the piece for renting or buying a 2BR? The take home for a $70k salary is only a little over $4k/month and the rental for even modest 2BR in older apartment buildings can be $2.3k-$2.7k. I know people paying $1.5k for a bedroom in a shared apartment.

This is maddening. Imagine finding out that you paid for a service that then just automated damage to your reputation without your permission or knowledge. Also I wonder if the support was AI or if it is outsourced to a company that is completely disconnected from anyone who can solve the problem.

Out on the ice of lake Nipissing at 1:30AM and I bring in a big catfish. My buddy notices that it has two lines in its mouth. At the other end of that line is my other fishing rod that got yanked down the hole before anyone could grab it - at 5PM earlier that day. Buddy knew we’d get ‘er back.

I didn’t even think I could get pieces of the metal sign so I never tried. My best score was one of the huge Les Mis posters from the interior. And of course I bought some of the hand painted signs when they sold them off.

I didn’t know that happened to the sign. I assumed it would have been treated with more dignity. It was a landmark. Was glad to have picked up a few mementos before the closing.

Actually curious to hear it regardless. I feel like the turn-of-the century adult swim mainstreamed ugliness (not used pejoratively) in a way that felt new, exciting, transgressive, etc.
