Also: it's a common mistake, to think that the couple Don surreptitiously films kissing in "Marriage of Figaro" are cheating, but they are in fact a happily married couple--so your analysis of Don's reaction is thrown way off by this misapprehension. 😬

@jonnegroni.bsky.social Just started listening to Mad Men Men and really enjoy it! Glad to see it's still going even on an irregular schedule. FYI Don's car definitely had power steering, which was standard by 1960. Those giant boats of that era would have been impossible to drive without it.

I went on in the comments to say that there has not been a straight comedy in YEARS, that I can recall, that was funnier than that second episode. The guy's face scraping against the wall, the hysterically funny playboy on Air Force One, Carol getting the boy to talk about speculums...

@patrickklepek.bsky.social I was baffled by your insistence that Pluribus, unlike Breaking Bad you said, "is NOT a comedy" and takes the whole thing very seriously. I would say there are certainly serious moments in the show, but...did you see the second episode? This is what I posted about it.

@devindra.bsky.social Thank you, Devindra! It has been driving me nuts that none of the podcasts covering PLURIBUS, and virtually none of the people commenting online about it, have made that parallel to MRS. DAVIS.

Sounds smart. And I say that as someone who joined Twitter in 2008 and left X last year because he's a jackass. Smart businessman though.

Even if the Lions pull this one out at home, I am very encouraged by what I have seen from the Vikings today. #SKOL

Still really psyched to have him on the team.

I'm still really happy we have this returner position locked down.

This is what it looks like to go on the road against the division leader and play effectively in all stages of the game 🀩

Is Goff the most underrated QB in the league?

Harry showed great patience tracking that fast rolling ball down.

They obviously should have split the difference and called it incomplete.

I would call him wildly inconsistent, probably better for him to stick to talking more about the offense and quarterback play, where I do think he provides good insights and has a companionable speaking voice. 🀷

Vikings have a WR who is the best in the league at his position, and his name is not Justin Jefferson.

Brady said earlier in this drive that there couldn't be a better start for the Vikings defense, which even before that was puzzling, because they got run over by the Lions on the opening Drive of the game, maybe Brady was still settling into his seat.

Two great plays and two major fails by the D in one snap! I don't even know what to make of that.

I remember that. Even in week two I don't think JJ played as bad as the stat line would suggest.

Not the week for a bunch of drops when you are trying to support your young quarterback πŸ€”

I was worried after that first drive about whether Flores could even slow the Lions down enough to force field goals at least, but now two more drives, two sacks, and two punts later, I'm feeling a lot better!

I have never played or coached football, so I can't speak to this too technically, but it just seems like it's similar to poker, which I do know something about. If you always make the highest percentage play, you are too predictable.

You have to do it sometimes, just not too often.

Oh ok, it was reposted by a Vikings reporter, sorry for the confusion. Idk if you would love it here in Vikings fandom either lol
