There is a full "Assist Mode" where you can tweak lots of game values, you're set! Don't be scared! (I also think the game is "tough" not not masochistic. Blasphemous was harder imo)

Everyone absolutely needs to play Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound. The developers behind Blasphemous do not miss, and they've made one of the best games of the year in this tightly wound action game. A total blast.

We're doing Disneyland Paris for a single day as a reward for them being adventurous. (Two nights, one day, I guess.). But yeah, the vast majority of the trip is Paris bc it's always been my wife's dream. Noted!
