One of the cool things we are doing with Storm is creating biomes from other assets that people can plug in and use. This image, from one of our team members, is from the Book of the Dead. It looks amazing!

It's worse. Not only do they cost a bomb. You can't export your data out in a way that's editable by anything else.

Wow. 10 years ago this month I started working on Gaia!

I took time to reflect and have a fantastic vision for the future. I'm super pumped.

Here is a little post I wrote about how Gaia came to be and where we are going:

AI Will Cause Jobs to Evolve, Will You Be Able to Evolve With It?│Justin Wolfers YouTube video by World Knowledge Forum

An interesting video on the economic impact of AI. The genie is out and won't be returned and it's a choice to embrace it or not. Case in point: I wanted to do some coding on a flight recently and decided not to because it would have been less efficient without AI!

Finally, after a pretty torrid few months, a few weeks to chill! Plans.. make house nice and tinker with AI and microcontrollers... :)

Assuming that they follow through, then this is what is coming with Unity 7. I have sat in some of their sessions. They are quite serious about it.

Home - UNE Partnerships

I am very pleased to announce that I have joined UNE Partnerships part-time as their non-executive director of AI. I look forward to working with them to explore how AI can improve student learning outcomes. Education is a passion of mine, and I am looking forward to contributing:

I often prefer to write things the the longer way. Makes its meaning explicit for the next person... but I kinda like your idea... it's already there for operators, and it's elegant.

Noice. The next major iteration of my ai framework will allow me to connect my iot stuff all the way down into unity. And where I am going with unity, in addition to games, is digital twins.

Typography 101 (Getting Started) Beginner tips and tricks for setting up, arranging, and pairing your game's typography.

The secret to a good layout? Good writing and good typography. If either of those are bad, your rpg's layout will look bad.

This week on Explorers Design, I delve into typography. How to set it up, pair it, and why. I cite a lot of sources. #ttrpg

We get the same thing even from game devs. Usually from those with the least skill. It's a reflection on them, not you. Good luck with it!

Three panel black and white comic. Panel 1. A smiling eel-like primitive fish shows off it's new iPhone in front of it to two trilobites. Fish dialogue: check out my new phone! It's got 16 gigabytes it can hold! Trilobite dialogue: oh yeah? How many trilobites can it hold? Panel 2: the fish looks on, concerned, as the two trilobites crawl onto the phone and others join. Panel 3: the fish looks upset, its phone is buried in several trilobites. Fish dialogue: please stop

An oldie from Inktober 2018: trilobyte

Thank you. Hope you enjoy them! We have a really nice update landing for Gaia in the next week or so. It's a masking system that allows you to paint where your biomes will spawn... the other part is a faster terrain loader, which optimises when terrains are loaded for really large multi tile worlds.

Travelling again to see mum. Did some design on a game I have wanted to make for years. Already super excited to play what it will become... keep telling myself to reduce scope but then creative head kicks in... and I know when I get back that reality will kick in as i am already so busy... sigh :)

A blindspot for AI reasoning engines like o1 is that they all appear to be trained on very traditional deductive problem solving for chain of thought

What would a model trained on induction or abduction do? What about one trained on free association? Expert heuristics? Randomized exquisite corpse?
