it’s odd because oora insists that her parents are still alive. and whether they are or not, she further insists that there was some prophetic reason why they couldn’t keep her, why she had to have parents who embodied greed and gluttony in its purity.

and when it finally did, in the form of her mentor/professor, he was taken away from her unceremoniously. there is no grand finale to life, and in that realization did oora learn how justifiably unfair her circumstances were.

the realization that nobody is truly there — oora’s upbringing made her realize that she could be surrounded by all the things she wanted, but what she needed still had yet to make its appearance. her need for a loving mother and father, a true parental figure, may never come (cont.)

these snippets of her dreams usually consist of the people she met in the book, *mainly* areia and the jade phoenix. there exists this feeling of guilt, as if she should remember and should know these people, these experiences, but she doesn’t.

oora, since returning from being unceremoniously isekai’d into a fairytale novel, has had her dreams permanently altered. she only remembers a few seconds or breathless moments from these dreams, but they stick with her. she’s started a new journal to document them.

oora could be seen as a traditional meredith grey pick-me by audiences, which is definitely not my intention with her character, but she definitely has her moments of “oh… sis…”

“repressed”… definitely meant suppressed! areia finds the same enjoyment and fulfillment in her androgyny that she does whilst basking in her femininity. at times she finds it easier to convey herself in a more masculine form.

but there’s a particular shyness to areia, i’d say. on paper, she is quite literally the embodiment of the jade phoenix, an ancient ethereal being passed down through generations of her people. but in practice, the fury that comes with the role is oftentimes repressed by areia … [cont.]

anyways! i was working lol… but i think areia has two “sides” to her that aren’t even like sides, but moreso like how a lava lamp moves. like it bounces and ebbs and flows and squishes, but it’s still all the same thing. her femininity is a very important piece of her… [cont.]
