Egon Schieleβs 1913 painting of a sawmill has always been something of a mystery. The painter felt an unusual kinship with nature. Miaβs new exhibition βTimber! Art and Woodwork at the Fall of the Austro-Hungarian Empireβ dives into the topic. Learn more from the curator: https://bit.ly/46xlYmz

Young artists, Mia exhibit, shine uncomfortable light on racism
βMinneapolis as Monument,β at Mia is a reflection of five years post George Floyd that led to racial reckonings within and outside the city.
Many thanks to all the artists who spoke and who I interviewed at the Teen Perspectives exhibition on May 10 at @artsmia.bsky.social! Article up on @minnpost.bsky.social

Black and white photo taken inside a building looking at a staircase. In the foreground is the back of a person shaped statue. The staircase goes down a floor in a zig zag pattern, and up two floors in the same pattern. At the top floor is a person leaning over the railing. Below that person is a sign on a wall reading "agra culture kitchen"
Inside the #Minneapolis Institute of Art (@artsmia.bsky.social). Cool building filled with awesome #art. If you're nearby, I recommend making the trip. Hours of fun, and no tickets needed, but they do accept donations.

Artist beginning to make a cut in the ice
The cut being made. Ice is spraying away from tool
Another view of the artist cutting into the ice. The light really help make for some interesting photographs
A look at the sculpture. The lobster phone, I believe.. I thought it looked a little like one of those amazon fish.
This is a series of the artist at work. Whoever thought of making this at night is an artist in their own right. Picture of the front end of an old "Tatra" brand car. The car has three headlights, and a shiny grill and bumper below.
Went to the #Minneapolis Institute of Art (@artsmia.bsky.social) again yesterday and spent a few hours. I could be lost in there for days, amazing stuff. Here's a Tatra that they have there that looked pretty cool.
