Season One

Season Excuse me, Sally and Jan are still here you know!

Season Starts well, goes downhill, back uphill, falls off a cliff with Moloch and recovers very nicely

Season You Bastard Boucher, you've just ruined Christmas!

My kids (10, 9 and 5) are more into classic Who, especially the animations (take that all you purists out there!)

Last Sunday, we watched the whole of Galaxy 4, whereas when we watched Space Babies they werent that interested. My middle son enjoyed the Star Beast, though

I am talking subjectively, but while I might appreciate Peter Capaldi's excellent performance and the idea of exploring grief, my kids would be bored/terrified/confused by it. As would possibly, the general audience watching this after Strictly

Terrible is, in hindsight, the wrong word. Inappropriate is perhaps more apt.

At the time, it was clear Moffat was aiming Who at a more adult audience, especially given the later timeslot. Who should be accessible to everyone. As a parent, this would be low on the list of episodes to show my kids

Time to admit that while its possibly great drama, it's terrible Doctor Who. Mind you, the last time a companion properly died, we got Time Flight, so perhaps we should be grateful?

The Blonde Avenger: Part 3 - a 90 minute special pilot?
YouTube video by David Gillespie-Pratt The Blonde Avenger: Part 3 - a 90 minute special pilot?

And for something totally different, I look at the Tara King era of The Avengers and how one bit of series lore might not be quite accurate

Of all the random songs that's being played in Tescos, we have Carry the Blame by early 90s band, River City People. A really seasonal song all about a woman regretting having an abortion

In the summer, I worked with a year 6 pupil who was struggling with his mental health. We discovered a joint interest in Doctor Who and did some action figure photography, including this one, which he then edited on one of the school Ipads.

I can understand it in Season 7, especially the barbed comment about the Silurians in Ambassadors.
But by S8, apart from his outburst with the disagreeable Mr Chinn, he just comes across as a rude & patronising bore.
The Daemons would've been a 4-parter if he hadn't been such a pompous arse

3.14 Melvin Pena tells his story

Why do we all love Doctor Who so much?

There's so much fan experience that's the same but different for everyone. We're all fans but in different ways!

Come and hear the stories of Doctor Who fandom and the shared history of us all in The Library of Impossible Things.

Photoshopped artwork of the very first Doctor Who story, "An Unearthly Child" (1963) - the TARDIS has landed on a barren, prehistoric landscape as the shadow of an unseen figure falls before it. Against an ominous sky, William Hartnell's Doctor is positioned on the left, and his grand-daughter, Susan Foreman (Carole Ann Ford) is on the right, with the TARDIS placed between them.
