I just want to be able to sing for fun. I don't want to amaze people or sound perfect. I just want to sing. But I feel like I can't. It's not a good feeling. Lore dump over.

You'd think that would be great... it really wasn't. My mom told me I should audition for things. When i would sing, if it was anything short of perfect, it just wasn't good enough. I couldn't just sing for fun. If I did, it "sounded awful". At one point she guilted me into auditioning with her too

So I started copying them, singing the same songs they did. I never posted it, I just practiced singing with them. But my mom is a professional singer. She pretty much immediately latched on to my voice, telling me that I'm amazing. I didn't think I was that great, but I digress

Mildly traumatic lore dump time that no one will ever see I guess: back when I was about 14 years old, I found others (like Miku-tan and Joydreamer, to name a couple of utaites) doing vocal covers online. They were my biggest inspirations, I wanted to be able to sing like them.
