Early Golden Light, Acadia N.P.

I’m not compelled to add any detail, ever, no matter the scale. Nor do I add finishing touches. They’re small pieces of paint, important for the composition, but never inconsequential minutiae. I don’t believe your thinking is backwards, however I would encourage you to meditate on the subject.
Glancing down the side streets while exiting NYC early in the morning you see a different little color world in each fleeting vignette. This particular side street glowed like a beeswax candle.

Another chunky, abstracted cityscape. I enjoy trying to get away with some very unusual color/composition choices.

Some cloud photos I’ve taken while traveling across the country are so unique they border on the absurd. This was painted using one of my “unpaintable” pics as reference. Photo was probably taken of the western sky while crossing a highway overpass somewhere in Appalachian Mountains. 10”x10” oil
I don’t make prints of my original paintings.
It’s an original painting and it has sold, Kelly. There’s no back in stock…

Last spring in Manhattan, painted from a previous smaller study. Moved the truck over and eliminated the construction vehicle. Definitely feels more cohesive.
8”x8” oil.
I traveled over this bridge daily for years during college. I’ve seen it in all seasons and at all hours of the day, however the “night’s edge” time after sunset was always my favorite.

The assumptions you had to make to arrive at this comment…fascinating.
