A review by Dennis Richardson, in line with the PMs original plan, may well have yielded a more thorough, useful, and informative outcome. His exit from the Royal Commission is a classy act. #auspol
It might change if Albanese realises how destructive Marles and his defence mandarins are to both Australia and the Labor party. Sadly that's not happened so far.
Increasingly clear that the future of the species hinges on the American/Israeli empire collapsing before the climate does
"Having three hands like a normal Aussie!"
Completely agree with that. But this seems like the only way they can possibly limit some of the crowds and traffic there that cause so much damage. Personally I won't go to places that charge fees like this, so it will work on me. The apostles are nice but a bit underwhelming anyway.
Jenny why FFS? Busloads & rental cars full of tourists at the so-called "Experience Centre". They cause huge wear and tear on the GOR, use the toilets etc, and often don't contribute one cent to the region. As long as the entry fee there is put towards the area, it makes sense.
ASX today shows big falls in all sectors because of the Iran invasion, except one sector: gas companies Santos, Beach and Woodside, petrol retailers Ampol & Viva, & coalminers. Why? Because they'll use this Trump-driven mess as an excuse to raise prices & increase profits. It was ever so. #auspol
Actually read the article. You will only pay if you visit and park at the "Experience Centre". Sounds sensible to me.
With respect, what do you expect the government to do about something which is totally out of their control? Maybe hoping for handouts or some kind of fuel rebate like Morrison did? Best thing our govt could do is to completely disassociate from USA & its unhinged leaders - they caused this.
Sycophantic puff-piece - on their NEWS site - from the ABC for this crude and tawdry pair who were on commercial radio, complete with a photo of them that's at least a decade old. ABC sinking to a new low. Maybe K&J are personal friends of somebody high up there?
American exceptionalism never fails to please.
I was first on the reserve list at Darebin (Northcote/Preston) Library but it's still showing as "on order" - and only two of them. Damn - I thought us woke leftie inner city types would do better.
If you believe that I've got a bridge to sell you!
Well we all needed a bit of good news. Congratulations MFW.
Queues (not including me) at my local servo in Melbourne last night.
Last week we said wages were not driving inflation. Today the latest data shows wages were up 0.9% in the Dec 2025 quarter. Profits were up... 6.4% and non-mining profits were up 5.5%.
Gee what a coincidence that happened at the same time inflation spiked

So many good reasons!
Spanish PM Pedro Sánchez: “Today more than ever, it is essential to remember that one can be against a hateful regime as is the case with the Iranian regime…and at the same time be against an unjustified, dangerous military intervention outside of international law.”
I don't use X or Threads because of their ownership and or content, but being in Australia am acutely aware that Bluesky is still a US-based & owned platform. Today, huge world events & issues, and some Aust ones too, and there's this:
I'm watching on FTA channel 10. Was fine until they ran a Woodside ad at half time.
All these things can be true at once:
👉🏻The Iran regime should be toppled - they’ve just killed 40,000+ Iranians
👉🏻Trump is the worst and most incompetent person to try to destroy the Iran regime
👉🏻US’s allies have to support the US because otherwise they’re supporting Iran.
It’s complicated, folks!
How does our government support two countries who continuously breach international law with their attacks (one genocidal) on innocent people in a plethora of countries. How does it support a man who did not seek congressional approval for his actions (again)? How are we upholding international law?
FFS who is advising him? Or is it just his own work?
In 2020, Kevin Rudd and Malcolm Turnbull backed Australia’s largest e‑petition, with over 500,000 signatures for a royal commission into media diversity.
The need has never been greater given what is happening in America right now.
In summary: AI rots critical thinking, hallucinates, is shaped by the hyper-wealthy pedos that own it, its data centres guzzle water we can't spare, it will help lay off millions, we can't trust photos anymore & it keeps recommending nuclear war. But yeah, nice memes, dipshits!!
My daughter had her first after-school job with Bakers Delight, and we were regular customers for many years, but since their Advance funding became known I have been boycotting them, along with Blackmores and Kennard Storage.
As soon as somebody says "do your own research about EV/battery fires - it's every where on YouTube" you just know that they are victims of the pernicious YouTube campaign using "experts" who are mostly fear-peddlers supported by and/or dependent on the fossil fuel industry.
Absolutely vile. The equivalent in Australia is using behind-the-scenes power and influence to silence…criticism of Israel.
“The Israeli military has committed more targeted killings of journalists than any other government’s military since CPJ began documentation in 1992.”
Elections in Australia: (1) Compulsory voting (2) Always on Saturdays.
To be fair, Americans seem to stand up to clap for just about anyone, every time. It's a USA thing.
