Photo of Eric Reid in uniform kneeling at a football game with his hand over his heart. A quote on the graphic reads "It baffles me that our protest is still being misconstrued as disrespectful to the country, flag and military personnel. We chose it because it's the exact opposite." Quote is attributed to Eric Reid, one of the first NFL players to take a knee for racial justice.

Eric Reid made history when he took a knee with teammate Colin Kaepernick to protest police brutality and racism.

His actions affirm that dissent is patriotic and our right to advocate for the causes we believe in is fundamental to our freedom.

Not to get political, but America is very pretty and has a lot of nice folks making cool things, and I think if we had a president who wasn’t actively trying to murder us, we could have a pretty good time

BREAKING: Without any public input and before providing any flood relief, the Texas House just passed new congressional maps that further disenfranchise voters of color.

This is an affront to our fundamental right to vote. Texans should pick our politicians — not the other way around.

Broad trans bathroom ban passes Texas Senate in special session “The only way anyone is going to realistically try to enforce this is by looking at a person and deciding they don’t look quite ‘feminine’ or ‘masculine’ enough,” said a policy strategist with the ACLU.

Texas politicians could've passed bills to help their constituents, such as supporting communities impacted by the recent floods.

Instead, they chose to target trans people.

Texas officials ‘block US border agents from helping three drowning migrants’ A congressman blames the state after it took control of an area known as Shelby park and refused to let US border patrol enter

It always blows my mind that this isn’t a more widely known news events. This is the man who is now threatening to arrest Texas lawmakers. The “three drowning migrants” were a mom and her two little kids tangled in barbed wire Abbott put up. He then ordered no one to help.

When will voters ever learn that the GOP is not the fiscally responsible party?

I wonder how many Americans realize that Bribery is one of just two impeachable offenses specifically enumerated in the United States Constitution and the case that Donald Trump has now committed that crime dozens of times in his second term is a legal slam dunk.

So shall we get started?

Toxicologist here! This will improve the health of zero Americans. Current synthetic food dyes are not causing health problems, and are often times used because they are actually safer than natural food dyes. Reminder that guns are the #1 cause of death of children but we are going to ban food dyes.

Please repeat over and over:

“Bending to the whims of a bully will not end his cruelty. It will only embolden him. The response to authoritarianism isn’t acquiescence. Bullies respond to one thing, and one thing only: a punch in the face.”

—Gov. JB Pritzker

Everyone needs to ask why the administration can facilitate GOP photo ops with prisoners in this prison but not one single piece of evidence to prove that Abrego Garcia is still alive until they answer the fucking question

Trump created an environment of instability where it's impossible to make long term plans. Whether you're a company, investor, or anyone working to put food on the table.

The GOP only promises you more of this. If you want stability, you have to vote for it by voting them out.

Dems should propose impeachment for the illegal tariffs. It's not just a unilateral tax. It is globo-political damage that we will not recover from.

LIVE: Cory Booker speaks on the Senate floor YouTube video by Associated Press

A Black man just beat the record for the longest filibuster, defeating the record previously held by a man who filibustered the literal Civil Rights Act.

As the time ticked over, Cory Booker announced he did it not out of hatred for who he opposed, but out of love for those who supported him.

It's critical for everyone to remember what an Executive Order is. It is the President communicating orders to members of the executive branch. Policies to pursue, actions to take, etc. They are not laws. They are not close to being laws. They are formalized memos to employees. That's all.

Here’s an excellent idea… knowledgeable leaders in their respective areas who use that expertise to illuminate issues as they arise and become consistent voices, instead of relying on media outlets to deliver narratives on what’s taking place.

That’s not to say that faculty don’t carry similar issues, but if you don’t have faculty to teach, sections don’t get offered. When you don’t have advisors to advise, someone still has to advise them….

Staff roles don’t have annual cycles, but generally align with acad terms (when transitions seem natural). The issue w staff roles is the amount of work remains, regardless of the number of staff… in my role (acad advisor) we have to support more students/advisor when we have vacancies.
