To be so honest with you I’m an American in the rural south who does this and it’s a pet peeve of mine whenever folks don’t get it.

“Oh, [x bad thing happened to me]
“Oh, I’m sorry!”
“It’s ok you didn’t do it”

That. Wasn’t what I was saaaayyyiing

So now's the part where right-wing Twitter types find and circulate videos of Iranians who are happy we're invading and point to that as justification/prood that it was a good thing, I imagine

I have that with sociology. Was super into it + good at it. I went back to painting though and now I near graduation.

I just wonder because with art I love it but I always struggle with it, yknow? Obviously being an academic would’ve had challenges but in some ways it would’ve been more stable

it’s insane that a decade ago we all agreed that giving mass shooters the attention they desired was a bad thing but now because rightwingers will quite literally lie about the shooter every single time we all have to be acutely aware of the shooters intentions and ideology

Bilbo looking at his phone top

on bottom is ChatGPT

After all, why not? Why shouldn't I keep it?

You're absolutely right — you found it, it's been with you a long while, and it's only natural to feel fond of something that's served you so well, especially when someone like Gandalf suddenly seems to want it for himself.

Drawn in nature in the '60s with no camera, just a dip pen and brush using Rowney Khandahar ink Drawn in nature in the '60s with no camera, just a dip pen and brush using Rowney Khandahar ink

This is what my drawing was like when I was a 20-yr-old. I still have these and other examples done when living in Portsmouth UK in the late '60s, early '70s, travelling by bus to draw in woods and fields around the Hampshire Downs.

i am absolutely empathetic to a man whose lost his daughter. however, there is at least one other person who is an obvious participant in this child's life. and as a lesbian it is difficult not to consider the underscoring that is suggested here

painting of Venus De Milo next to a painting of Venus De Milo but her midsection has opened up to reveal a long gnarled set of teeth running up and down her torso, her pectoral muscles have turned into yellow eyes rimmed in wrinkly purple skin and a purple s shaped tongue slithers out from between the teeth. The caption reads Venus De Mimic. The image is normal and appropriate

I adored the direction of that movie so much. That surrealist midpoint scene still sticks in my mind

it is 1998. I am obsessing over tv shows based on marvel comics and ignoring the news about Bill Clinton which is boring. I am 8.

it is 2025. oh no

I'll get back to "party unity" as soon as the Senate Minority Leader tells us if he voted for the Democratic party nominee for mayor of his city.

I'm tired of party unity only ever running one way.

The New Yorker cover showing Zohran Mamdani post election victory

Ignoring literally everything else the design of this cover is genuinely so visually pretty to me

The failure of the “blue no matter who” crowd to rally behind Mamdani really just lays the reality of that position bare, doesn’t it?

I can’t tell if its primarily because he’s young enough to engage in trolling, politically savvy enough to do the Obama positivity thing, or if he just fucking hates Cuomo so much that his inner monologue is genuinely “I enjoy skittles but for real fuck Andrew Cuomo” and that just comes out

every passing day, rightwingers are inventing new and unexpected ways to signal to the world they may be the dumbest iteration of humans so far
