Planets Visible In The Sky.
Prior to sunrise, there are planets and more visible to the naked eye. In the eastern horizon (from top to bottom) both of the planets Jupiter and Venus, as well as our Moon, can clearly be seen in this image.

Prickly Poppy (Argemone munita).
"This poppy bears its flowers on erect, spiny stems which can exceed a meter in height. The sap is yellow. The blue-green or mint-green, lobed leaves are also very prickly."

Hiking in Borrego Palm Canyon, was blessed with a sighting of these big boys this morning.
Desert Bighorn Sheep are federally protected as an endangered species since 1998.

Desert Bighorn Sheep are federally protected as an endangered species. "The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) listed the desert bighorn sheep as endangered in 1998."

With a combination of random luck and good timing one can encounter the Desert Bighorn Sheep while hiking in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. It was such an amazing and chance encounter!
