04.08.2025 21:37 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0No problem! It's super dope and I rely on it a ton. I really enjoy laying out empty slots for my content in my sprite sheet and I can see my progress as I go along. Really easy to make micro adjustments and quickly update them vs painfully importing again.

You could put enemies that are in the same wave in an array, and then every x amount of frames remove an enemy from the array and spawn it onto your path.

Sara's tutorials are how I learned ages ago and are real good, just know that anything over 5 years old will not be taking advantage of some more modern stuff, though that doesn't necessarily invalidate the content.
I also really enjoyed Gentoo's iceberg series though it's on the more advanced end
Sam Spade has a GameMaker language fundamentals playlist on YouTube that's a great starting point!

Happy to offer suggestions on the GameMaker side of things, the official space rocks tutorial is a good start point
Agreed, thank goodness they are moving away from workspaces, you can turn on the Code Editor 2 beta feature in preferences and basically never have to touch a workspace

As someone using 3d in GameMaker, it's totally doable, just not intuitive. Really cool engine for 2d tho
Since GameMakers room coordinates has 0,0 at the top left, you'll need to account for rooms at difference in room heights which is some not too bad math, but tough to get into here.
I'd recommend th GameMaker discord, they have really good help channels there, or feel free to send me a msg
