Appallingly blurry shot of Detective Munch from Homicide: Life on the Streets and Law & Order: SVU appearing in an episode of the X-Files. A thin rangy older gent with big ears, glasses, coming into an interrogation room introducing himself as the person being interrogated asks "did they find her?"

Absolutely delighted to actually be paying enough attention this X-Files rewatch to realise that Law & Order and The X-Files are same universe lol

I rewatch season 1 every few months or so. Then the entirety of MindHunters at least 2-3 times a year. Mare of EastTown, Broadchurch, The Fall, S1 of the Sinner. I stopped True Detective after he first season - but after reading a few post, it may be time to rectify that.

Blue Lights is amazing and while I would love to have more eps each season- I feel like the story arc for that season was finished. Anything else would have been filler.

This is our job as human beings: to care for and protect vulnerable people around the world.

The humanitarian situation in Gaza is dire. Children are starving to death as aid remains extremely limited and vital resources like fuel, clean water, and health care dwindle down to nothing.

Patron-Supported Journalism Can’t Be the Future of News Writing about the failure of patron-supported journalism is itself a kind of...

I did not enjoy writing this; it can't even serve as an ad for my newsletter, which I've suspended due to an overbilling situation that has me almost regretting leaving Substack. But, you know, it's evidence for the piece I just didn't get to include.

The children are doing something called “airport theory” on TikTok where they get to the airport really late and then marvel when they sometimes make their flights anyway. I would like to be the opposite of whatever this is, please

I'm reading contemporary reviews of Fargo, and the main criticism is that the Coen brothers condescend to their characters, that the wide accents are meant to be comedic. Coming from that part of the country, I always felt like this criticism said way more about the critic than the Coens.

In a small town in County Cork, Ireland, a monument stands in appreciation to the American Choctaw Indian Tribe.
Although impoverished, shortly after being forced to walk the Trail of Tears, the tribe somehow gathered $170 to send to Ireland for famine relief in 1847 [Historic Vids]

Visits to the insectarium usually end with me standing in a corner waiting for our nephews to finish looking a big hairy spiders. This time I chose to stand next to the biggest spider. God, I really hate ticks. 🤮 #newfoundland #westcoast
