More Mavs roster moves: They've added John Poulakidas and Tyler Smith on two-way contracts (and waived two-way Miles Kelly).

Both should have 12 games for the remainder of the season of NBA active roster eligibility.

We shouldn’t be too worried about anyone jumping to a conclusion he is/isn’t a player based on a rookie season. The NBA is filled w/ dudes w/ rookie seasons that resemble nothing like their eventual careers. And yes it’s a development window, so throw some darts & see. Maybe this hits, or maybe not

Mavs rosters moves over the wknd: Tyus Jones waived and today they have filled that roster spot by converting two-way Ryan Nembhard to a standard contract.
Season numbers for Nembhard in 38 gms: 6.7 ppg, 4.9 apg (leads rookies) and shooting 43/38/77. In 17 starts, 10P/6A per gm.

As of Tuesday, Naji Marshall now has a career high 32 starts this season. As a starter this season he’s averaging 17.7 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 3.5 apg and shooting 54%.

Tyus Jones recorded 6 assists & 0 TOs Friday and now has enough assists to qualify for NBA season leaders in assist/TO ratio. His 8.4 to 1 A/TO ratio this yr is easily tops in the NBA

His career 5.7 A/TO ratio is the best of any qualifying player since avail data in 83-84. Career best season is 7.4

Mavs at Timberwolves is on WFAA/KFAA/MavsTV tonight at 6:30. A post break schedule full of road games for the Mavs who have a league high of 17 remaining. We'll see Anthony Edwards in his first game since winning MVP of the new and successful All-Star Game format last weekend.

The Mavs announced a Kyrie Irving update this morning. He won’t return this season as he continues to rehab his torn left ACL. Details here

Cooper Flagg numbers at the All-Star break - 20.4 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 4.1 apg

Rooting so hard for Dick Motta to make it to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Named a finalist for the class of 2026. Was 3rd in NBA history in coaching wins when he retired in 1997 & still 14th. A title in Washington, Coach of the Year w/ Chicago & a great builder as we saw in Dallas!

ICYMI, the Mavs announced last night that Cooper Flagg has a left mid-foot sprain and is out vs the Lakers tonight and the all-star weekend Rising Stars game on Friday. Ace Bailey of the Jazz was named his replacement today for the Rising Stars game.

This is one of those games we can do a side by side with NBC…so Mavs vs Celtics is on KFAA/MavsTV!

I’d assume after Thursday’s big games Cooper Flagg & Kon Knueppel wrapped up Rookie of the Month awards for January in their respective conferences going into their final Jan games Saturday.

Coop: 19.6 ppg/6.7 rpg/4.5 apg, 47.2% FG
Kon: 18.1 ppg/5.9 rpg/3.6 apg, 49.5% FG

Will make both 3/3 on RotM

Amazing to see Cooper Flagg’s game on the Aguirre night and vs Kon. He certainly met the moment!

Scheduled adjustments for the Mavericks because of the postponed game this past Sunday at Milwaukee.

Dallas at Milwaukee will now be played March 31.

Dallas at Memphis game originally scheduled for April 1 has been moved to March 12.

Kudos to our plane crew and Love Field ground ops who worked their butts off to try to get us out last night and for several hours today to try and make it work but Mother Nature had other plans.

Some have asked and this is the latest from the Mavs for Saturday’s game at AAC. Nothing has changed w/ regard to the expectation/timing of game being played just some minor tweaks to arena ingress/egress. SOP in most of these cases for the NBA - if teams/referees are here the game will be played.
