Yeah Ubisoft's launcher is miserable. If it (or I guess your internet?) goes down you can't even play a single player game 🙂

But it adds new outfits, a speedrun mode, QOL stuff like autosave, and the ability to change the voice language separately from the subtitle language.

I think it's worth it if you don't mind the the bad stuff I mentioned. Or just pirate it tbh

Visually it's really nice. The old one is a pain to get working in modern resolutions and stuff, if it's even possible. I gave up trying.

I got it on Steam, which means it also has to go through Ubisoft Connect. It also has Denuvo. I had to do a bunch of stuff to make it not stutter like crazy.
