Paris residents vote in favour of making 500 more streets pedestrian This was the third such referendum in Paris following a 2023 vote that approved a ban on e-scooters and a decision last year to triple parking charges for large SUVs.

Parisians voted overwhelmingly in favour of pedestrianising 500 more streets. Yes, voter turnout was low (4%). But it shows yet again that on issues like these that most citizens are fine to try new things & the opposition is actually a very small and vocal minority.
