02.03.2026 00:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Starmer really does do everything possible to back away from a popular position
01.03.2026 22:09 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Starmer's ability to find the exact sweetspot which pisses off everyone is extraordinary. He's a savant.
01.03.2026 21:25 β π 2637 π 505 π¬ 80 π 22Keir Starmer is going to end up with his trademark u-turn here β where it becomes obvious to those paying attention it was entirely forced by backbenchers. So he gets no credit for the u-turn by people who wanted it, and attacked for dropping the policy by others.

28.02.2026 12:39 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0obviously today is a huge embarrassment for Matt Goodwin and for Reform, which is something that we absolutely ought to celebrate, but we must also remember it's a huge embarrassment for Morgan McSweeney and Maurice Glasman and all the Blue Labour weirdos, and that's important to celebrate too :)

I'm old enough to remember when Labour was to the left of the Tories
Two years ago
Reform UK has pledged to scrap the Renters' Rights Act if the party secures power. It has angered renters waiting for no-fault eviction ban.

THEY TURNED OFF HER WHEELCHAIR AND PUSHED HER AGAINST HER WILL
That's the equivalent of someone just picking you up and carrying you off
A complete denial of bodily autonomy/consent that if it wasn't for ableism would be seen as assault
Imagine being in your 30s, going into hospital and then being denied the right to go home again

Horrifying
But we need to talk about how this has been enabled by Farage and the Tories
Worth noting his objection to no fault divorce. I worked a bit on the campaign for that, and one of the striking things with the scholarship was the evidence that demonstrated allowing it led to a drop in suicides of married women.

Declaring that a Reform government would scrap new employment rights for workers and scrap reforms which benefit renters feels like a helluva gamble two days before a huge by-election.
We'll find out in the early hours of Friday morning, I guess.

These people are poison. They will unleash racist thugs on the streets of this country and call it security. They will subjugate us to the US and call it patriotism. They must be stopped. There is no more important task in politics.

Children with additional needs don't necessarily need a new system
They need more money, more teachers, and more belief that they can achieve
would love to see disabled people of colour given the mic on this

It's both true that John Davidson should not be blamed or shamed for his tics *and* the BBC should have edited out a racial slur
It's mind boggling that this isn't obvious

agh this brings me rage
(I was also a kid who did this and the LA didn't want me to go to a mainstream school because they didn't want to fund a 1-1)
indeed. I was one of them
23.02.2026 12:33 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0We should probs also talk about the parents of nondisabled kids who don't want disabled kids learning with theirs
23.02.2026 12:28 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0yes, I see this story time and time again
23.02.2026 12:03 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Let's be honest though, it's about money
23.02.2026 12:02 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It'll be unpopular but the government is right that kids do better at mainstream schools. We should do as much as possible to avoid segregating disabled kids

Obviously the SEND system needs reform but I'm not sure changing paperwork is it
Thinking of the four yo I met recently who shows clear signs he can read but is only getting a 'sensory curriculum' because he's nonverbal
It's about not writing kids off because they're different. It's attitudinal
