a major argument in favor of LLMs is they will speed up scientific research, especially in human health.

but when they are spending >10x the biomedical research burdget every year, it is very hard to argue that the money wouldn't be better spent simply paying for biomedical research.

There’s no need. It’s just as expedient to enter the info yourself at the candidate’s fundraising website.

I’ve been teaching the histories of eugenics for over a decade and I honestly never thought I would be able to use an American Eagle ad in a lecture to demonstrate how dangerously normalized eugenics has become in 2025. A lot of it is the global ascendancy of far right fascism but also the pandemic.
