I know there's a lot going on, but the Dept of Ed just announced they're refusing to disburse title dollars to schools. Money to train teachers, fund after school programs, teach English language learners, and more. BILLIONS. This could be catastrophic.

Omaha is blue!!! Congrats, John Ewing!
Obligatory stop.
There's still time to submit your comments of support online before tomorrow's hearing! If you believe teachers should have access to six weeks of paid FMLA (LB440) and retention stipends that incentivize remaining in the profession (LB411), make your voice heard!
What the hell is this??
Good luck to Superintendents this week!
Unlike Trump, winter weather won't faze us! We're rallying at the Capitol to protect our public schools and our students access to the education they deserve!
I don't know how many chances I'll get to run the National Mall while it's actively snowing, so I definitely took advantage of my opportunity today!
Refs aren't beating the allegations, lol.
Millard voters - you only have until Tuesday at 5pm to return your ballots for the bond election! Don't put them in the mail, get them to a drop box! This is an easy vote to help make our schools more secure that will not raise the tax levy AT ALL!
I agree but it's what the organization chose to call it. I didn't want to pick the fight this time π
It was a privilege to kick off the 50th Nebraska Ecumenical Legislative Briefing Day at Christ United Methodist with former Senator Linehan on a panel to discuss school choice education policy. Thank you to everyone that attended and asked questions!
I know folks are concerned that they're pushing vouchers AGAIN, but I promise you it's different this time. When Linehan introduced LB753, it had more than 30 sponsors. LB509 this year has ... 2. Your pressure is making a difference!
Spent the last two days out west in North Platte, Sidney, Alliance, and Chadron meeting with members and doing press interviews about our pro public education agenda we're advocating for in the Legislature. People are excited to fight for positive change this year!
Visiting England. Big pro: in a city half the size of Omaha, we're using robust public transit (every 7 minutes!) to easily get around.
Big con: they have absolutely destroyed Dr. Pepper here. Whatever "this" is, it's not Dr. Pepper
Spent the last 2 days doing interviews in central Nebraska about the need to tackle the teacher shortage in the upcoming session. Improved pay, 6 weeks paid family medical leave, and more behavior support are key. With more than 1200 positions unfilled, we need bold action!
The Nebraska Republican Party released their "platform" on education for the upcoming Legislative session. Not a single thing to support our educators. Nothing that helps students. Just pure culture war nonsense.
Happy Education Support Professionals Day! It takes a village to educate our students, and our education support professionals are a huge part of the work we do in our schools. Thank you to all our ESPs out there, and we'll continue to advocate for you!
Did I make it? Is this the Good Place?
