And to be abundantly clear: this is not an inherent issue with religion as a concept, nor even with Christianity. I was a religious studies student in college and have immense respect for religion and the role it plays in the human experience. This is about the separation of church and state.

A deeply disturbing thing about Christian Nationalism is that when you take a model that says “those who violate our creed and are not one of us are punished and those who violate our creed but are one of us are forgiven” and apply it to politics, what you get is a dictator who can do no wrong.

The thing I can’t get over about this Mein Kampf Bookstagram bullsh*t is that (assuming this was not just an egregious mistake) the people who are out here throwing around all these Nazi dogwhistles seem to think they’re being… subtle? And seem genuinely shocked when people are like, “Excuse me??”?

About how it’s been almost three years since I left that platform. Before that, I’d been on it nearly a decade. My entire adult life (and before, which often got me into trouble). It’s wild that something that was so prevalent, so part of me, could just be…gone.

Blocking out time to work on drafting in chunks with built-in breaks in between is making all the difference for my focus on these freelance articles today and somehow also feeling...restful?

I'm doing basically 2 hours on/45 minutes off for a really intense Pomodoro Technique and so far so good!

Last night in my dream, I couldn’t think of the word for “overthinking,” so my brain substituted “wandering in place.” Truly not sure how it arrived there, but that was kind of poetic of me, wasn’t it?

And I'm TRYING to remember!! These poor people, putting up with me.

Within the last couple months, I started doing some #proofreading work for a marketing agency. I REALLY enjoy the projects, but when I say I cannot for the life of me remember their workflow, I MEAN it. I feel like every single time a deliverable comes in, I mess up some part of the admin process 😂

One of the things I love about reading #romancebooks with my friends is that you can learn SO much about other people by what they like and don’t like about a fictional character’s relationships. It teaches you what they value. How they want to be treated. What they fear or dream of. That's special.

We live in a society where there are so few opportunities to build genuinely uplifting & positive community & some days I feel like screaming at the sky because nothing is ever going to get better unless we find safe ways to have connection with others.

Be kind to someone today. The world needs it.

Something I consistently struggle with as a human is the inconsistency of my available energy.

Yesterday was a crazy day, coming in at 14 hours of work for me, and today my brain is just mush, which makes SO MUCH SENSE, so someone explain to me why I'm ANNOYED I can't put in another 14-hour day. 😂

Currently doing some research for a #freelancewriting piece and someone please explain to me how there is literally NO information about this project on the internet. Like...the organization didn't publicize it? No one wrote a single press release or article about it? It's just...not there! 🤬

The magic of a good coffee shop is so unparalleled. I step into a good coffee shop, get myself a lil snick-snack, and suddenly I have the cognitive process power of a god. My to-do list doesn't stand a chance.

Okay so the other day I sat around for a while and ate fresh strawberries with bites of chocolate my friend brought me home from Switzerland and I have been thinking about it every single waking moment since then.

Whoever taught my dog that she gets a treat every day at noon (it was me) is on my list, because as far as she's concerned, noon lasts from 11:30 to 12:30 and the only acceptable activity during this time is begging
