You should totally look up the Jersey City Bike Master Plan. It has a boatload of best practices that they use citywide, and I’ve used it myself when I helped my own town gather study material for building future bike lanes.

tbh I'd rather have taco bell and more housing than a declining population, parking mandates, but a local business that isn't seeing revenues go up at the same pace as the cost of rent

Context: My local bike shop got bought out by a big manufacturer and they won’t let them touch any bikes that aren’t made by them, even if it’s to get a tire changed.
