A 21-year-old Ukrainian-born sumo wrestler is surging to the top of the rankings in Japan Danilo Yavhushyshyn left his native Ukraine 3 1/2 years ago — just after Russia launched a full-scale invasion — and has risen rapidly to stardom in Japan as one of the country’s top sumo wrestlers.

It's always interesting to see what foreigners are having success in sumo.

I've seen some stuff about people's marathon times and that if you're not sub-3 that you're not a "real" runner, which is total crap. I've enjoyed watching a breakdown on average/median times on IG. #RunChat

I prefer a consistent schedule, even if that means it's at slightly different times depending on the week (as it was in the past). I also would be OK if sometimes we had a brief mid-week chat. #RunChat

However, the impact GLASA has goes beyond the field of competition. It's mission is to let no one sit on the sidelines with programs ranging from archery to yoga.

GLASA provides adaptive sports and wellness opportunities for people with physical or visual disabilities, including veterans. Notably, GLASA alum Jessica Heims won silver in the F64 discus at the World Para Athletics Championship this week.

I lived in Nishitama-gun (西多摩郡) for 3 years. It's definitely different from the 23 wards. I know about the importance of the Hamura Intake Weir, which led to the growth of Edo (now Tokyo), and ran by it regularly. I didn't know there was a push for political independence, but I understand why.

I've been in Metro Atlanta for 6 weeks helping my mom downsize her home and relocate to Texas, where my wife & I moved this summer. Today, movers loaded the truck and said, "See you again" to some great neighbors. So, I got ALL the feels today.

I believe @baseballbydesign.bsky.social has a great starter pack of peeps.

In interesting things I just notice: I've logged 1,300 activities on CityStrides. I have NO idea how many miles I've covered during those activities, but that's kinda cool.

I know not everybody wants, needs, or feels like they can afford a running coach. I am, however, very thankful to have one. I got to talk with him for 30 minutes today to game plan this week, as packing, moving, and driving will drastically affect my routine. #StevenRuns #RunChat

Hip is maybe a bit sore this evening, but no real damage done. Honestly, just glad I didn't get a face full of spider web. Eew!

I ended up slipping and landing on my butt because I was on some dewy grass. I was unhurt, so were the spiders, and most importantly I didn't have to clear a HUGE cobweb off my face. Whew, that was a close call. #StevenRuns #RunChat

Today's run was interesting, but uneventful at the same time. I didn't encounter anything too weird or problematic during my 20-miler. I did, however, for the first-time ever, narrowly avoid running face first into a gigantic spider web. #StevenRuns #RunChat
