Oooh! More #ISS #HamRadio excitement
Much more specialised than the recent #SSTV activity there will be some people with the capability to receive the test signals and report so if you can please do
We think at least one of our members has a certificate but they're keeping it under their hat having made their last Bluesky post on the subject of the Series 28 #SSTV event from the #ISS
For anyone else who took part and uploaded to the @arissintl.bsky.social gallery; final call for certificates
This includes any of our members who participated

The image also includes a NASA photo of astronaut Randy Bresnik mounting one of the ARISS ham radio antennas during STS-129 in 2009.
With the SSTV event finishing yesterday, the ARISS radios are back to "norminal" operation. Enjoy!

Given that this authored or edited by the ARRL Handbook editor, it is probably going to have a USA bias. But it'll probably translate well enough to be of interest
15.07.2025 19:33 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0We can confirm that at least one of our members has received #SSTV images from the #ISS this evening (Monday 14 July 2025) in IO81OK
Looking forward to more reception this week
Thank you @arissintl.bsky.social

48th International Amateur Radio Exhibition
Held over 27 - 29 June 2025 at Messe Friedrichshafen under the banner "Remote Radio - Connecting the World" the organisers have released some preliminary figures from the event
We caught the start time change in an earlier post and have already updated our IO81QK pass predictions at www.sbarc.co.uk/news/ariss-s...
We're trying to work one reception period into our current Foundation Course on Wednesday
I've just looked back at the original data and I'm not sure we have lost a pass, we might have put an early one in before the original start time in error
Have to say this is a more civilised timing (yes I know orbital trajectories are fixed) than the last activity period over IO81QK
Thanks to @arissintl.bsky.social for the update, we have noted this change on our website post (www.sbarc.co.uk/news/ariss-s...) and have updated our pass predictions
No major change in #IO81QK but we did loose 1 early pass on 14 July 2025. Still plenty of opportunities though

#ARISS #SSTV Activity from the #ISS (14 – 20 July 2025)
ARISS has once again organised a SSTV activity period from the ISS. Lasting 7 days, 12 images will be tansmitted on 145.800MHz using PD120
Marvellous, after the rigours of VHF Field Day we can relax with an #ISS #SSTV activity period
Keep an eye on the News Posts at www.sbarc.co.uk/news for our pass predictions over #IO81QK. RSS feed available
Great work by @arissintl.bsky.social to get this organised
Hmmm...
This has deprived our Field Day op of 2 (well 1.5 considering one is our Treasurer) warm bodies on site.
We need to discuss priorities...
We're on tenterhooks waiting for any updates. Hopefully there's progress; we all like a good #SSTV activity period from the #ISS!
Thanks to @arissintl.bsky.social for all the great work they do
Preparations for #VHFFieldDay are moving forward.
Access to our usual temporary location has been confirmed and we have access to a new horsebox to be our catering and operating post
Briefing at this Thursdays Club meeting plus kit assembly to begin the logistical exercise of getting it all there
You are correct but @arissintl.bsky.social beat you to it by a day or more
We posted an apology and correction shortly after, keep up my man
The nice people at @arissintl.bsky.social very politely DM'd us to point out that we'd made a typo in our last post about likely pass times over #IO81QK
They are, of course, correct the dates should have been 14-07-2025 and 15-07-2025. The times, however, are, at least approximately, correct
This could be quite sane timings over #IO81QK @kingnerd1963.bsky.social @bigbernie.bsky.social @g7kna.co.uk
For example
14-06-25
00:09 - 00:16
01:46 - 01:52
20:08 - 20:13
21:44 - 21:50
23:20 - 23:27
15-06-25
00:57 - 01:03
02:36 - 02:37
19:19 - 19:24
20:54 - 21:01
22:31 - 22:38
Brilliant @arissintl.bsky.social news, another SSTV event allowing the reception of images from the #ISS
Hopefully @sbarc.co.uk members such as @bigbernie.bsky.social @kingnerd1963.bsky.social and @g7kna.co.uk will pick up on this
Pass predictions for IO81QK to follow when we have more details
Hope you have a great evening and a good turnout

Propagation was against us, only adding ~20 QSOs to our log
Rain and storms skirted us and we were packed away before the only major rain event of the day
@kingnerd1963.bsky.social @bigbernie.bsky.social @m1acb.bsky.social
Unfortunately mobile phone coverage at our #MillsOnTheAir site is poor, and there is no WiFi available either, so we are not able to "live post"
