While ICE terrorizes Minneapolis, detaining Native people who are citizens of this land since time immemorial, the Minnesota Indian Women’s Resource Center is holding the line. Our people cannot shelter safely outside. MIWRC offers a culturally grounded, low-barrier sanctuary in the heart of the Phillips neighborhood. The Minnesota Indian Women’s Resource Center warming shelter is open. But keeping it open costs money. They need $45,000 to maintain operations as this crisis continues. This week: → One person died from exposure → Four Oglala Sioux tribal members were detained by ICE → Renee Good was killed by an ICE agent → Temps are plunging to dangerous, deadly levels Beyond warmth, food, and safety, MIRC staff will help guests obtain tribal IDs and documentation.
