i despair at ever fully funding for survival.

despite the shares in recent weeks, no closer to the goal. the fundraiser was begun in December 2024 by a trusted friend, back when martial law was declared in Korea and i was trapped there.

i desperately need fundraising support and help.

The author @tjalexandernyc.bsky.social responded to me kindly telling me they weren't aware of the issue. And got the marketing employee to apologize to me. I greatly appreciate this. Especially as a fellow marginalized creator.

Artists deserve to be paid for their work, full stop. I would not want my books to be associated with anything less than that. I'm in touch with the marketing team at Vintage and am waiting for clarification on what's going on.

Hey, I'm the author of this book. I was told that this promo would involve paying queer and trans artists and small biz for any products involved. We did a similar promo last year. If that wasn't communicated clearly or changed w/o my knowledge, that's messed up.

I literally can't afford to give them free products. I have bills to pay. I am disabled. Also exposure does not pay bills. They can pay me AND credit me. But once I mentioned they'd have to pay me. They ghosted me. So they clearly were just looking to use me.

It felt like they just wanted to use me for free products. By mentioning that they're queer and etc. Like I'm queer too. I deserve to be paid. I have bills to pay. It's so insulting that such a big company refuses to pay for others work and try to get free stuff.

A marketing employee from Vintage, an imprint of Penguin Random House messaged me asking for free pins in exchange for "exposure". On behalf of the author TJ Alexander for their book A LADY FOR ALL SEASONS. It was very disrespectful, exposure doesn't pay bills.
