28.01.2025 07:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ed stands wearing a light purple shirt and a green swing coat made out of a blanket. There is a fold over collar that shows the other side of the blanket to be florals on a green background.
Ed stands with a green and white plaid swing coat wrapped around her front. It's very cozy.
The back view of Ed standing in the green blanket swing coat. The back is shorter than the front because the blanket was shorter than the pattern asked for.
Ed standing in her green blanket swing coat with her arms stretched straight in front of her to show the lack of arm mobility from this pattern.
Makes from 2024: Starlight Blanket Coat by Sasha Starlight from a Costco blanket. I started this coat in September and it was fairly quick to make, but it hung on a chair for a long time because I don't like it βΉοΈ.

Cute!!
27.01.2025 21:03 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I have a tripod I set up and I use a Bluetooth remote clicker for photos. On a long click it does a burst, so I have a lot of photo options. Conveniently, there's a mirror behind my tripod spot, so I can check my phone screen π
25.01.2025 08:45 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0More dress info please!! Also, is that a tinsel trim on the sleeves? β¨
25.01.2025 08:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Sometimes the pattern will say you can use self fabric, which is your outer fabric. But you may want to take into account fabric content closest to your skin. If your fashion fabric is a polyester and poly makes you itchy, line it with a cotton voile or lawn.
25.01.2025 08:06 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Still great ππ
25.01.2025 08:02 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Your first pattern?? This is great!!
25.01.2025 02:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I do like this skirt and I'm thinking if I make it again, I'll trace off the pattern piece to cut it in half so there is a side seam where I can put pockets! I do really like the curved and slightly wider waistband.
25.01.2025 02:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you! I always love a seasonally festive garment π
25.01.2025 02:53 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Clever π₯
24.01.2025 02:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Love the double buttons!
24.01.2025 02:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Bummer about the fabric, the dress is so cute though! I thought the butting spacing was a purposeful design decision for waist definition or something
24.01.2025 02:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Stunning!!
24.01.2025 02:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0HACK DISCOVERED, but not implemented... Alt text is like 1800 characters. So there could be room for Alt text + thoughts...?
It was so much easier adding Alt text here than on IG π
Garment sewist π I'm just starting to engage here and would love to be on the list.
24.01.2025 02:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Ed takes a selfie in her bathroom while wearing a long sleeve black top, a three-paneled Gilmore Circle Skirt in Valentine's Day fabric, a wide black belt, leggings and socks with Birkenstocks. A fashion icon.
I sewed up this Gilmore Skirt from the Cashmerette Club two years ago & I just hemmed it last weekend. I like it, but I want pockets.
In the past 3-4 months, I've sewn 4 different circle skirt patterns; I have some thoughts.
β
Pros: good waistband, like the panels, no center seam
βCons: no pockets

24.01.2025 01:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Right?? It has photos like IG, but character limits like Twitter. It feels like photos: yes, but long captions of pattern thoughts and adjustments: no. I think you get to pick the mix that's good for you with thoughts/makes/opinions. Opinion of 1, but I like looking at photos π.
