The DX8 lobby scene from 3DMark 2001 was also one of my favorites from around that era, watched this demo SO many times, basically burned in my memory. This benchmark actually used the same engine that powered Max Payne π
Mirror reflections in Resident Evil Requiem, Ray Tracing Off vs High vs Path Tracing. Huge difference in mirrors but also applies to any reflective surface. Notice the extra detail on the light fixture π

AquaNox was one of the first games to use DX8 shaders for its underwater effects. Fun fact: This engine and tech also powered the AquaMark benchmark π
