Writing a story, and the fact that I just googled "How much force does it take to break a window" and "Waffle House exterior" back-to-back probably landed me on some sort of watch list

No, that’s something entirely different.

I’m talking about, like, the opening voiceover SAYS “the galactic empire spans half a billion worlds,” but then the story involves so many chance encounters and small-world networking that the galaxy FEELS more like a city of 100k people

to rephrase, what do we call it when a story’s stated stakes exceed the vibes?

Is there a name for that thing that happens sometimes in fiction where we’re told the scale is very big but the actual story feels much smaller?

e.g., a “fate of the world” story that takes place entirely in New York City, or a “save the galaxy” story that visits five cities on four planets

To this day, if I find a good enough stick (or broom, or shower rod, or whatever) and have enough room to swing it around, I will pretend I could fight with it even a tenth as well as she does

Please don't do any of these things to me. It's creepy, it's not sincere, I hate making eye contact with strangers, and if I'm in Target, my day is not going well and I don't need help

Amused by the thought of vinyl-cutting an fmod logo and putting it on my car

I’m picturing non-developers who recognize the logo from games they’ve played sitting behind me at a stop light seeing the logo and asking themselves “wait a second what the heck even IS fmod?”

Are they counting people kidnapped and shipped off to random foreign countries as “weight loss?”

Are they counting excess deaths from disastrous health policies as “weight loss?”

If every man, woman, and child weighed an average of 150 lbs, that would only come out to 51 billion lbs. In order for that number to work, Americans would have to weigh on average almost 400 lbs.

And then if we collectively lost that much weight, we’d all be literally dead.

Stop sharing AI slop.

It's one thing if you don't know or just made a mistake. No need to breathe down someones neck b/c its harder to tell nowadays.

But if you do know (ESPECIALLY IF YOU DO KNOW) even if you're posting it to make fun of it or sharing it unironically... consider not doing that.
