Hey. Why haven't anyone told me about @krita.org before? Just started using it, and I'm smitten – I literally clapped my hands at how easy some of what I wanted to do was. I feel like there's still a slight learning-curve to overcome since I'm so used to PS, but this is working REALLY well so far.

I've been experimenting more with colo(u)rs, trying a more painterly style. OF COURSE I had to take a stab at this absolute 90's bonanza by the one and only @nickroche.bsky.social!

Made some more work on this @nickroche.bsky.social piece, testing out some techniques I haven't really tried before.

I needed to get out of a bit of an art funk, and noticed that @nickroche.bsky.social posted this super fun #Transformers drawing (as he is want to do). I felt I to just had to throw some colors on it for fun.

Didn't bother with shading (yet), but the flats are still pretty nice.

The "Roman salute" was invented by a French 18th century painter who totally misunderstood Roman sources and then just went with it. So yeah, the "Roman salute" was invented about 250 years ago, and for a majority of that time it's been used either by; a) people in paintings, or b) very bad people.

I don't really do digital art, but had some spare time today between working on other stuff so I took an hour or so to put something together just for fun.

This ended up becoming a character portrait for the fellow I'll be playing in an upcoming #CallOfCthulhu campaign.

What's funny is that this issue of the original Transformers comic, drawn by @andrewwildman.art, is one of my favorite single issues of any Transformers book, and the art was a HUGE part of me wanting to be a comic artist.

This @keizama.bsky.social piece is still one of my absolute favorite pieces of Transformers art. I've literally studied this drawing in detail and it's just astounding.

I have to say, one of the best things with working at a place with a café is that when things pass their sell-by-date, you're allowed to take them home for free.

Also, if they break, get smooshed, or fall on the floor, you write them off... what happens after that is solely up to you.

They're super practical, especially because they're on wheels. The drawers are pretty deep and tall as well, so a lot goes into them.

Instead of faffing about ALL day, I managed to sort my secondary* markers and pens.

*"Secondary" in the sense that they're basically "emergency material" for when/if my usual tools fail me.

I had a rough day with a migraine and a lot of drama within a friend group, which took up most of my evening and energy. I needed to do something to clear my head a bit, so I drew half a Tarn.

Surely, this was acquired legally without any copyright or trademark infringement. They are, after all, vivid and great in style.
