I don't understand either. I hate awards season. Hamnet was such a really beautiful experience for me in the theater, especially crying with the rest of the audience and feeling connected to them and to the filmmakers, despite not knowing them.

yes 1st person POV is currently "in" with a lot of people but when I started writing, people got on the internet and claimed constantly that 1st person POV was for people too lazy to learn the craft of conveying deep POV in third.

Journalists need to be aware that this stuff is largely written under pseudonyms *for a reason* and that if you inadvertently out a fan by publicizing their fan work or identity without their permission, they could face real-world stigma and consequences!
I was outed as a fan and fired for it!
I think a lot of things can be true at once re: fandom and the fourth wall. The basic reality is that there *is* no fourth wall and arguably hasn't been since 2011, 50 Shades era. But that doesn't mean fan privacy goes out the window, or that it's fine citing fic or fans in articles w/o permission.
Also obviously a lot of my feelings are personal ones and not, "Well, this shouldn't be covered because I said so!" I keep posting about it/engaging with people because I'm trying to work through thoughts about it!
Yeah, and it just turns me off specifically with the HR coverage. I understand but I do feel weirdly on display like I'm part of a zoo or something.
