Having grown up in Metro Detroit, I can absolutely confirm this.

It took me 3 nights to finish the audiobook. I want more. I've been in such a holding pattern for things to read that I allowed FB to sell me an urban fantasy series where the main protagonists are modern-day druids raising a child Merlin.

Honest to god, I was kept in at recess for 4th grade because I hadn't done my cursive homework, and I have had a personal vendetta against it since.

I watched a video from the British Museum where the guy teaches you the rudiments of reading hieroglyphics and it was really cool. What was cooler is that the project is working with local archaeologists to dig at the sites, and training others in methods.

Happy to report that everything I looked at has sold out in my size. I'll wait for a re-stock.

We had an 18 month long house project (non-disclosure by seller created a health hazard) and having to have strangers and put cats away was such an enormous deal. Our cats got pretty wary of unexpected treats and shut doors.

Well, we chose which books were most important to us, and then we started getting the new ones in electronic form.

But "never get rid of the books" used to be my mantra. Thankfully, we kept the TTRPG books, because we got back into it.

Those are two very clear positions. Just kinda wished we hadn't had $300 in credit when they disappeared.

We did that in one of our apartments. Wound up with a "dining room" library. That was when we decided that 14 bookshelves were too much for an apartment tiny as ours and consolidated our book collection. Then the used bookstore that gave us credit went out of business.
