I have essentially that, but the bootstrap to virtual required the Telo device. I think hardware is how they actually make money. You just need someone in the States to plug it in while you activate your account! 😉

I transferred my old landline to Ooma after a friend gave me an old physical Telo box--no need to even have it plugged in. I treat it like an answering machine.
