I don't know how many at-risk people this will affect. I do know that a service removing encryption (even if it was only ever opt-in) does make me unhappy.
I often think of the 1994 genocide in Rwanda and the way it is viewed in 'the West' as something 'those people do' that we don't do and... history shows that we are very much capable (and willing) of doing exactly those things.

Darn that lack of edit button. I cheated by taking planes to and from there. (But locally, I travelled by train, coach and taxi.)
I needed a mental health trip so I spent two weeks travelling to four countries in Central Asia. I saw so much (and I only really visited cities). I learned so much. My energy levels got refueled so much.
It starts tasting sour after a while but if you take off the scum, it will continue to be alright for a few more months.
