This year, we honor the North Stars who lit the way for those who dreamed freedom into being & refused to surrender their vision of justice. We’re uplifting the Black champions of today & tomorrow, across Florida & beyond, those who are doing the work & becoming someone’s North Star in real time. 🖤
Today, we celebrate Angela Y. Davis, who is currently 82 years old, as part of our North Star & Rising Star series for Black History Month.
Angela Davis remains a living blueprint: how to move with principle, how to stay rooted, & how to pass the playbook to everyone ready to learn.

HB173 could restrict teens’ access to critical treatment for STI infections, unintended pregnancies, & more without the consent of a parent or guardian. Young people without supportive parents are also left without informed consent or aftercare. Call your reps & urge them to vote NO on HB173. #HB173
The Senate version of this bill has its next stop in the Rules committee before it makes it to the senate floor.
This could put victims of DV, their allies, & providers at risk for civil liability lawsuits. Advocates & first-hand victims of SA came to speak out against the bill, but instead of listening, legislators brushed off their concerns, spread medical misinformation, & voted to advance this bill.
SB 164 has the potential to impact patients seeking reproductive care by classifying embryos and fetuses as fully grown humans in Florida statute.
