Really awesome conversation with Hal! These are super fun -- the part about how saying the word "migration" stressed people out was COMICALLY relatable

It is endlessly aggravating that Claude Code most obvious weak spot, in my usage, is its inability to use either the Anthropic or OpenAI SDKs

29.10.2024 22:40 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Yah I’m pretty sure scheduled rides have no grounding in drivers schedules. It just requests a ride 15 min ahead of your time, and if you’re out in the sticks, too bad!

I know it’s hard to find a ride at 5am! That’s why I scheduled a ride!!!!!

Taken extremely narrowly, polls say nothing about the election outcome, because they happen this week, not in Nov. It’s on the narrative-builder to convince you which shortcomings matter, if any.
09.09.2024 19:33 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Yeah fair, seeing a 1-in-20 outlier is actually very good information that the CI isn’t too wide.
I think most of this comes down to how intertwined statistics and narrative are.
“Call me again if it happens 3x this week, that’s legit new data”
09.09.2024 18:36 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I think the simple intuition is mostly correct though, in the polling case? Like the convo is mostly:
“Polling says it’s 51/49, 95% CI of 49/51-53/47”
“Oh but this poll says 46/54!!”
“Yeah that’s fine, something like that happens 1 in 20 times.”
