Damage from Trump's $8B energy hit list would spill into GOP districts The department targeted 16 blue states when canceling financial awards for 223 energy projects. But both parties will feel the impact.

Yesterday Trump and Vought announced they'll cancel infrastructure projects in states with Dem Senators. This is deeply corrupt.

Trump and Vought will raise electricity prices for millions of Americans and kill jobs including in districts represented by Republicans.

Before the 2024 election, immigration was Trump's strongest issue so it was good campaign strategy to tie everything to it no matter how tenuous the relationship. Now people hate what Trump's actually done, so the connection will not magically turn people around to support Republicans

Massive immigration raid on Chicago apartment building leaves residents reeling: 'I feel defeated' The Department of Homeland Security said federal agents with Border Patrol, the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives arrested 37 people in the raid.

Armed federal agents in military fatigues busted down their doors overnight, pulling men, women and children from their apartments, some of them naked. Agents approached or entered nearly every apartment and US citizens were among those detained for hours. chicago.suntimes.com/immigration/...

FCC chairman leads “cruel” vote to take Wi-Fi access away from school kids FCC Republicans kill funding for Wi-Fi hotspot lending and Wi-Fi on school buses.

Here's some more about the Trump FCC's decision on Monday to kill two popular programs that helped bring free Wi-Fi to poor rural school kids (at no additional cost to taxpayers):

ICE agents raid South Shore apartments; Trump says Chicago could become military training ground ICE agents raided a South Shore apartment building overnight as the city braces for a possible military deployment.

“ABC7 spoke to Pertissue Fisher, a woman who lives in the building. She said ICE agents took everyone in the building, including her, and asked questions later….’They was bringing the kids down, too, had them zip tied to each other.’”

It can’t happen here, you say. But it is happening.

Trump mandates all federal agencies send email blaming Dems for potential gov’t shutdown Workers call the partisan email "a vile slap in the face."

SCOOP — The White House instructed all federal agency leadership on Tuesday to send out a mandatory message to workers blaming the impending potential government shutdown on House Democrats, The Handbasket was first to learn. Absolutely no modifications to the email were permitted.

This is, quite simply, a lie. Government shutdowns have never triggered layoffs before because government shutdowns have nothing to do with layoffs.

Voters Elected Her to Congress. Mike Johnson Is Making Her Wait. “At this point, I can’t hire staff. We don’t have an office. I can’t get around without being escorted,” Arizona’s incoming House Democrat, Adelita Grijalva, said Tuesday.

Congresswoman-elect Adelita Grijalva hasn't been sworn in, so she has to roam Congress with an escort

I saw her this morning going through security along visitors — something lawmakers don't need to do when walking into the Capitol

Fossil Fuels and Fossilized Minds What’s driving the doomed attempt to revive coal?

Solar and wind power have finally become important sources of energy in recent years. But the reason they have grown rapidly while coal has declined isn’t that the chardonnay set considers coal unfashionable. It’s the simple fact that coal is no longer cost-competitive, while wind and solar are.

When Trump tries to indict his political enemies on pretextual grounds, grand jurors have the option of refusing to indict. When prosecutors ask for a conviction, jurors can refuse to convict. The Trump administration can treat this government of the people as his own mob enforcers, but the people need not acquiesce. When Trump abuses his power to settle political scores, the people can choose to nullify.

Trump’s political prosecutions require members of the public—specifically jurors—to go along with him. Every time Trump wants to prosecute one of his political enemies, the people should say: no. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...
