New @healthaffairs.bsky.social paper on how CMS can integrate formal aspects of #HTA, much of which is patterned after @icer-review.bsky.social practices! Many thanks to @commonwealthfund.org for their support. @basucally.bsky.social @leah-rand.bsky.social

Very thoughtful study and important results to show how cost-sharing of drugs directly affect mortalityβ¦ and why, if and when, we get the price of drugs right, there shouldnβt be any need of cost sharing..

I know a lot is going on right now, but presuming CMS continues to allow its data to be used for research, this VRDC transition is happening at some point.

π¨ How does physician altruism shape ties to the pharma industry? π¨

I return, I hope total NIH budget is raised by at least that much & certain F&A items allowed to be budgeted under direct costs with justification!
And donβt be fooled by the fact the NH industry runs on a thin profit margin. Ashvin Gandhi and Andrew Olenskiβs excellent work shows how NH industry tunnels nearly 70% of its profits and keeps them hidden!!
