Cheating at college has always been easy. It's just that now the cost is being taken on by investors in gen AI companies and taken out of low-paid, exploited data center workers in the global south. The hysteria about chat GPT needs to focus on the long-term devaluation of core humanities skills.

I think Canadians are already helping by refusing to accept this as normal, making a big stink, responding in an economic way (boycott, etc.), trying to rally allies, etc. It feels like we're screaming into a void... from a US perspective, what more can we allies do that would help?
