The Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) in North and East Syria are more than a military force — they are a true guarantee of women’s rights. When women are excluded, peace is incomplete. Participation and decentralization are not privileges, but the basis of justice and freedom.

On the 33rd anniversary of the martyrdom of the struggler Berîtan Hevî, we remember the symbol of resistance and dignity who has always inspired us to continue the struggle for women’s freedom and justice. We will never forget, and our pledge to follow her path remains unbroken.

Zenobia Women’s Assembly launched campaigns in Raqqa and Tabqa, reaching over 11,500 women, focusing on economic and social empowerment and combating violence. Kongra Star also launched a unified Syrian campaign for a free and democratic Syria.

Kongra Star in Jazira Canton gathered 1,800 letters from women to Leader Abdullah Öcalan as part of the “I Want to Meet Abdullah Öcalan” campaign. The letters express hope for peace and justice, condemning the international conspiracy and demanding Öcalan’s freedom and democratic solutions.

The festival honored the martyr Hevrîn Khalaf as a bright female figure who rejected hatred and believed that the common destiny of peoples is the foundation for a just, humane Syria.

Women from the Jazira canton emphasized that building Syria’s future must be founded on solid principles, foremost among them holding war criminals and women’s killers accountable and achieving justice for victims. Ignoring these principles would turn Syria into a quagmire.

Kongra Star organized a forum in Qamishlo on the role of Leader Abdullah Öcalan in building peace and solving the issues of the Middle East, where participants discussed his ideas on democracy, women’s freedom, and the importance of dialogue to achieve peace.

HTS militants used tear gas to suppress protests in Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh, where residents demanded the reopening of roads and entry of SDF forces, affirming their resistance and refusing to surrender to the siege imposed on their neighborhoods.

Thousands across North and East Syria rally in solidarity with Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh, denouncing the attacks and siege by Interim Government forces, and calling for the lifting of the blockade, affirming that the voice of solidarity is stronger than the siege.

Leader Abdullah Öcalan, in his message to the women’s march “Walking with Hope toward Freedom,” said that the march will make an important contribution to democratic negotiations, stressing that victory is achieved through equality, not domination or authority.

The Women of Zenobia Assembly said decentralization is key to building a new, inclusive Syria. They criticized the Damascus centralization that caused violence and conflict, and called for real participation of women in shaping the country’s democratic future.

The women’s delegation from North and East Syria concluded its European tour after a series of meetings with parliamentarians and women’s organizations, highlighting the experience of women in the region and calling for support for their struggle for freedom and equality.

Women in Suwayda continue their protests, demanding an international investigation to uncover the truth about violations, ensure the return of the kidnapped, and open humanitarian corridors. From al-Karama Square, their voices call for justice that cannot be silenced.

Emine Ose, from the Democratic Relations and Alliances Committee of Kongra Star, said the shared vision of women in Syria is to build a decentralized system protecting the rights of all communities and women, while promoting democracy and pluralism.
