ChatGPT generates fake data set to support scientific hypothesis Researchers say that the model behind the chatbot fabricated a convincing bogus database, but a forensic examination shows it doesn’t pass for authentic. Having ChatGPT write something for you is liking having a robot exercise for you: the task might get finished but you won't accrue any benefit from it. Creativity, like athletic performance, is something that only happens as a result of doing the work yourself.

"You cannot be true to me
Til you're true to yourself
When you say you have to leave
and put your heart on a shelf

What taught you that you have to run?
What inspires this fear?
When you start to feel something real
You always disappear"

Meme. Still from film "The Woman in Black" showing a figure looking at an old house through the fog. The figure is likely a man, and we'll call him Throckmorton. It's an unfortunate name to give a child, and we can assume that he grew up to be an unfortunate adult. Here, our man Throck is standing between a pair or rusted, broken iron gates, looking into the overgrown and abandoned estate that stands between him and the (obviously haunted) house. Will he go forward? Will he not? With a name like Throckmorton, it's impossible to tell.

This looks a bit like an episode of House Hunters International that's gone off the rails.

Meme text reads:
I thought you said
'Eel Marshmallow House'

It's Halloween! Let's look at some scary eels!

Susan Hill's 1983 horror novel THE WOMAN IN BLACK, takes place at the secluded & haunted Eel Marsh House.

A dark & tortured estate, set in a fen full of eels! Much creepier than setting the stage at Lamb Meadows. 1/6

We pour energy into relationships that confirm what we already believe to be true about ourselves. Is your energy going toward people who confirm you're worthy of love or toward those who make you feel worthless?

Are you chasing validation from people who rejected you or is your heart open to receiving validation from those who actively choose and love you?

"Stop killing people" pretty much sums up my politics these days, whether we're talking genocide, covid, the environmental/healthcare/housing crisis, food insecurity, police brutality, lack of disability rights, attacks on LGBTQ+ folx, no access to reproductive medical care, etc etc etc. Just stop.

Stumbled upon Mars Attacks! slander on the TL here, and I do not have the emotional capacity this week to see my favorite movie of all time besmirched in such a fashion. I am going to bed.

One of the most difficult things about a breakup is accomplishing something afterward & them being the person you want to share it with most, knowing they would've been more excited for you than anyone. But you can't share it w/ them. They're gone & this thing you're so proud of tastes bittersweet.

Watching people on tv talk about how losing a girlfriend and losing a job are stressors that can play a part in motivating a mass shooter and nobody’s talking about the fact that women lose jobs and relationships too and it literally almost never ends in mass murder.

we all thought Twitter’s collapse would be swift and sudden like the fall of the Roman Empire but instead it’s been a steady, irreversible decay like the fall of the Roman Empire

Sometimes I wish that some people acknolwedged the difference between "No one has worked on this really" and "I haven't read much about it." Especially when they try to lecture you on your area of expertise and act as if it were an untouched wonderland, but they're essentially columbussing. Le Sigh.
